On February 26, 2019, the 1st MEISAR Conference took place at the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture of the University of Cagliari.
The conference, organized under the patronage of Ordine degli Ingegneri di Cagliari and Ordine dei Periti Industriali di Cagliari, was attended by engineers and technicians form the private sector and from Public Administrations. The main aim was to provide an overview of the international, national and regional use of recycled aggregates for concrete constructions, also presenting the partial results of the ongoing project.

Luisa Pani (Scientific Director of the MEISAR Project, Researcher and Professor of Construction Techniques of the University of Cagliari) who presented: "From demolition debris to the production of structural concrete".
Ginevra Balletto (Component of the research group of the MEISAR Project, Associate Professor in Planning and urban planning at the University of Cagliari) and Giuseppe Borruso (Associate Professor in Economic-Political Geography of the University of Trieste) who presented: “ Construction and demolition waste: between environmental loads and re-entry into construction processes. The case of the Sant'Elia Stadium (Cagliari) in the regional context of Sardinia ".

Giorgio Bressi (Technical Director of ANPAR - National Association of Recycled Aggregates Manufacturers, and member of UNICIRCULAR - Union of Circular Economy Companies) who presented: "The production of recycled and artificial aggregates for concrete packaging".
Luca Tuveri (Component of the project cluster and delegate of ANPAR Sardegna) who presented: "The production of recycled aggregates in Sardinia".
Andrea Zecchini (Head of Tech Assistance of Italcementi Spa) who presented: "The Italcementi and Calcestruzzi experience in the valorisation of materials deriving from other processes".
Fernando Lopez-Gayarre (Associate Professor of the Department of Construction and Production Engineering of the University of Oviedo - Spain) who presented: "Reuse of waste from the ceramics industry rejects as recycled aggregates for the production of precast concrete elements".
